more about Strategic Value Investments
Strategic
Value
Strategic value is created
when the underlying assets and/or capabilities are able to
be exploited by a large corporation through its own
customer base, distribution channel or organization.
Strategic
Buyers
Strategic buyers are usually large corporations who have
the capability and capacity to fully exploit the underlying
potential of the acquired asset or capability. They are
typically frequent acquirers, normally found in the same
industry as the seller and have a good record of successful
exploitation of acquired ventures.
Preparing the Business for
Sale
It is all in the preparation! Strategic trade sales are
based on established relationships. Having identified the
potential buyers, the task of the seller is to develop a
relationship so that the buyer can be educated on the value
of an acquisition. The seller then needs to prepare the
business for sale so that the buyer can properly and
quickly exploit the acquisition benefits.
Deal
Considerations
When it comes to negotiating the deal there are a lot of
aspects to consider. Remember what you are trying to
achieve and what result you want after the deal is done.
Strategy
Start setting out your sale strategy as soon as possible.
Think about all the stakeholders and what they need to get
out of the deal.
